Regarding Ronald's two links, wikipedia may in fact be more accurate. Dave has pointed out why the second link may be biased and i'd personally take anything about the Phoenicians published a century ago with a grain of salt. We know virtually nothing about them still. We have little documentation concerning the first millenium and the archaeological record of Iron Age Phoencia is almost completely missing. This btw is not my view, but the view of the authors of all the books i have on the subject.....You may also want to note that the tablets from Ugarit and in fact the city itself were discovered relatively recently....like 50 years ago....Regarding Sanchoniathon, the books i have only mention him briefly, but both Maria Eugenia Aubet and Glenn Markoe seem to consider Philo's account to be a viable source despite heavy corruptions.
