Hang on, isn't True North the point around which the Earth spins on it's axis?
The angle of the earth's tilt moves because of precession but the axis doesn't - if you look at it as a spinning top the spindle still passes through the earth at exactly the same point.
An alignment can't wander from true north because it's a fixed point.
