But also a primary reason to think that it is the original one sans the myths that grew up around it.
Scotland is part of Britain, so anything in Scotland is under British control, ditto anything in England, Northern Ireland or Wales. It's a different system to the USA or Germany, but can still be thought of in 'federal' terms I think.
