<HTML>Hi Tim:

The exact height of the pyramid is unknown but many have guessed at it's original height as being 280 cubits, exactly. This would give us 280 x 20.618 inches = 5773.04 or 481.08 feet or 481 feet 1 inch. However even the fact that it was actually completed is still simply guesswork as there really is no proof that this particular pyramid had a capstone. Whether one uses Pi or Phi or John's "seked" method the difference in height ranges only from about 480 feet 9 inches to about 481 feet 3 inches. Given this you should be able to see why it has caused so much controversy. My measurements are simply substitution from various lengths that have seen quoted in various books on the subject. None of the 4 sides are exactly the same so all simply try to get an average. I believe the consensus of the actual average length is currently about 755.55 feet. Also there is much controversy on where the pyramid actually begins and thus there is constant debate about the actual measurements. Since the corners are no longer clearly defined beyond argument the best we can do is rely on older sources since I have not really seen an accurate re-measuring in recent times using the latest laser technology.

Using 755.55 we get 755.55 x 4 = 3022.2

This time if we do the math we get 3022.2/Pi/2 or 481 Exactly !!!

The problem remains we can not be sure where the corners are so it is impossible to say for certain what angle the pyramid actually rises at. Unfortunately until one of us builds a time machine or finds the illusive original blueprint we will be arguing back and forth long after the pyramid has crumbled to dust and disappeared !

Cheers
