Dr. Schoch seems to forget the position of these quarry marks. It is not as if they are on an easily accessible spot within Khufu's pyramid. After all, let's not forget that Howard Vyse used explosives to provide access for himself to the relieving chambers. The question that arises is, how the graffiti act could take place "after" the pyramid had been finished, given the fact that the quarry marks situated in a room that had been sealed since construction?

As a second thought, quarry marks such as these have a precedent in ancient Egypt. On other places we have found the same type of marking by work crews, just like in Khufu's pyramid. Take for example the Red Pyramid, where numerous quarry marks have been found on what's left of the casing stones of the pyramid. Some were inscribed with cartouches bearing Sneferu's name, and others had inscriptions in that same red paint naming the work crews, like the "Green Gang" or the "Western Gang".
