I never said that the Mail was a racist paper, I was merely pointing out that it inadvertantly encourages racist behaviour. It's campaigns of "Buy British" and suchlike encourage an anti- foreign view in society. Maybe it could be categorised as "jingoism", but, in my view, that is just another word for racism.

Well, I respect your honesty here. But I do not believe that there is such a thing as a "best" country. Every country has its good points and bad points. If people start to look at other countries and say theirs is a "better" country, then following from this, they say theirs is a better populace. It leads eventually to jingoism and, yes, racism.

Point taken. I rarely read the paper, but when I read the issue that stated that Brass Eye was the "Sickest TV Show Ever", the paper was reporting favourably on Big Brother.

Actually, I will be leaving for Italy in September to live there for a year. I can't wait.
