Hi folks! We're also updating the articles section of the site, but I'm running into a snag. I need some copyright images of archaeology digs, middens, etc... any general picture that could pertain to archaeology in any spot in the world.
If you can help, please mail the picture with any citation information needed, to me at akatherin

The message board will look a little different than what you're used to, for one thing it works. Jeff is still tinkering and beating on some things with hammers but we'll get it the way you're accustomed to seeing. This is the most recent version of the forum software and not only has Jeff got the message board working right again but ………………..
The whole database is once again

All 169 articles are still in the database, for some reason we've lost admin access. If Herminone has access still she can set up a new admin account for me and we'll go for there.

Yes ..... it was an experiment gone wrong We were trying to migrate the site to a new server, one with the updated software to create a new Ma'at on.... unfortunately this old software wouldn't run on the new server completely. We thought it was working and changed the DNS only to discover aspects of the site wouldn't work so we had to change the DNS back.
So we'll hav

Jeff is migrating the site to a new, updated, server so we can use newer software. There may be a burp or two while he's migrating.

I was so shocked to see this, Bernard was a wonderful contribution to this forum over the years and besides that someone I could speak to on other matters. I'm not surprised to see requests for donations to the ACLU.
Besides what we saw here, Bernard was passionate about encouraging young minds to study history and the sciences, especially those young minds that often get passed over an

Hi Rick! I can't explain it ... I just really dislike web based email. Plus my hallofmaat email is spread across a million genealogy sites.

Here is the shield, sword and helmet that used to hang in the chapel at Samlesbury... the shield is smaller than I thought it would be.

The exterior of Samlesbury Hall is rather.... busy. I haven't seen anything like it elsewhere but I'm sure it can't be that unique. It's in remarkably good condition though and the interior is VERY nice. The stained glass is just stunning, it would be nice to be able to fly over and do some research but I don't see that happening frankly.
I think I'm going t

Thanks to DNA, even though I am stuck in the USA in 1811 on a genealogy paper trail, I can take a major step back in time and examine my English ancestry.
In the chapel at Samlesbury Hall, there is a shield, helmet and sword that belonged to (I think) Thomas Southworth. I can NOT find a picture of this anywhere online! It is driving me more than slightly crazy.

If they come through our local shelter, that's our main focus is to drastically lower the euth rate at the shelter.

Hey y'all,
Yes, I'm alive. I stay very busy doing dog rescue these days.
I'm looking for a book recommendation on the Knights Templar. I want something reputable to be sure. No garbage please! LOL

It might work if you used a large hook and crocheted the rope you were using as you went down the cliff face...

Jeff's credit card was the one on the server account to automatically pay the bill each month, it expired last month and that was the only place we forgot to update card information.
Thanks to Greg Reeder for messaging me on facebook, when the server is down I don't get emails.

I have to admit, I'm not understanding the excitement generated in the news article. The time frame IS Clovis or right around the cusp.... after Monte Verde why is this shocking to find remains of this age showing paleoindian traits?
I will say I've skimmed most of the posts so I may have missed something and I've been out of ancient history for awhile now...
