What supports the date of 70,000?by Hans - Ancient History
That is certainly interesting as his idea sidesteps some of the problems with the Davidovits theory. I do find it odd that the Egyptians didn't slop some of this liquid material around, leaving traces of it and that they would use it only at Giza and not elsewhere. I wish his name wasn't Barsoum - a bit to close to literary Barsoom! Doug what is the history of concrete in Egypt?by Hans - Ancient History
When do shrimp enter the archaeological record? In otherwords when do there remains start showing up in middens and other garbage dumps?by Hans - Ancient History
"Mr Sweeney said that such notions had been challenged before in the 1950s by Immanuel Velikovsky, who was ridiculed at the time by the formidable old academic guard." "Taking up the abandoned mantle, however, Mr Sweeney has found many of his predecessor's theories were not that far off the mark." Oh no, a Velikovskian believer, a stubborn lot - I hope this wonby Hans - Ancient History
I think that looking at Ma'at mission and the fact that Mark Tsarion will be a source of irrational thought should tell us that we need to prepare refutations for it-in advance. I had not heard of this guy until recently when people began posting his stuff on websites. That means someone has to actually read his stuff - John have you done so? Oh, is his material written or only on DVDs?by Hans - Ancient History
Actually it might be better to be aware of him and prepare contra-Tsarion materials. Most of the Velikovsky believers are to old to care now, Sitchinites are weakening, EVD acolytes have dispersed and the H and Bs are leading the pack. This guy needs to be looked at and his materials dissected and counter information provided. Apophenic like senous?by Hans - Ancient History
There was probably generations and generations of carving done in wood, which unfortunately is probably lost. Kat could I please have that document also? Thanksby Hans - Ancient History

I was asked the following question at another site. I thought I'd let the experts here take a look at it. ..."From the beginning of the Sumerian period have the archeologists discovered some humans remains, some skeletons? Has Some anthropological analysis have been done on them? A further question from myself what is the physical profile of a Sumerian? Small bodied, tall, thin, sby Hans - Ancient History

May it have been that the pyramids are positioned the way they are, is instead of deliberate planning, a result of "where can we put it where it doesn't interfere with what already been built-and there is good stone for a foundation", idea? Or is it radical to consider the Egyptians has muddling through?by Hans - Ancient History
A slightly more serious question. In the real world what would happen to a professor like Dr. Jones? Assuming a conservative college in the US or UK in the 1940 and in the present?by Hans - Paper Lens
become "mainstream"? My question deals with when did mainstream science (a majority?) accept that creation of the earth was not correct and the geological age of the world was billions of years old? Secondary question when did mainstream science accept that the bibical flood was not supported by the evidence?by Hans - Ancient History
but.... I'm not sure how old he is, maybe he is immortal? I understand he became the President of the United States sometime in the 1990s. He certainly didn't look much olderby Hans - Paper Lens

Why is it bad news for Stickie? Is anything good news for him? I thought the forged sign debacle was decades old and laid to rest or is he still promoting it?by Hans - Ancient History
5 Million years-yeah and the battle of Hastings took place in 1961. Side question - did the glaciers cover the area where stonehenge is located?by Hans - Ancient History
Joe, are you thinking of Elba instead of Sardinia in regards to Napoleon?by Hans - Ancient History
Paul H you have done a good job in dealing with this subject - keep up the good work!by Hans - Ancient History
Anything more on this story since 2002? The remains of what has been described as a huge lost city may force historians and archaeologists to radically reconsider their view of ancient human history. Marine scientists say archaeological remains discovered 36 metres (120 feet) underwater in the Gulf of Cambay off the western coast of India could be over 9,000 years old. The vast cityby Hans - Ancient History
What is the latest thought on the Polynesians getting to the Americas? Second question, what is considered the most likely date of the settlement of Madagascar? Wiki says 200-500 AD, is there any more precise date?by Hans - Ancient History
Some years ago a speculation on this same subject held that the crew of a ship carrying wine might actually survive such a drift voyage. Why a wine ship? Most coastal vessels only carried a few days water/wine and fuel for cooking. A wine filled ship might provide the crew enough fluid to allow survial during a drift passage. Does anyone recall that a NA canoe or two were found in the Azorby Hans - Ancient History
Because I was told by a really nice person on another website? Isn't that good enough? Not to worry Katherine, I think the material is absolute garbage. However I did say on the other website that I would bring it the attention of Egyptologists. A man of my word.by Hans - Ancient History
Not to worry Jammer I do live a life burdened by reality. The article and book are complete nonsenseby Hans - Ancient History
3 points for Damien!by Hans - Ancient History
Hi Doug I was being painfully satrical, the paper (there is also a book) is complete nonsense.by Hans - Ancient History
