I have been meaning to post this for several years so since we have already corrected one of Bennett's "errors" it is time to correct another one. This one is extremely important and would that his numbers were correct. They are not ... Here is what he wrote:
The proper ratio between Mercury and Venus is not 1 + 1/2 the sq rt of 3 or 1.866025 (would that it was ) it is 1.8686025 and he knew this as is shown in this image below ...
This begs the question why did he jump from the correct value of 1.86
86025 which he had calculated to 1.866025 ? I can only assume he hit the wrong number into his calculator or simply forgot to enter the 8 or maybe that is what he meant by "Solar Geometry". Thus his explanation of the square divided by 4 showing us the Aphelion and Perihelion of Mercury are not correct.
