Hi ...
In this diagram of mine ...
... seems I made a glaring error. In this diagram I show the distance to Jupiter being 2000 cubits thus this would make what I have called Mars 2000 - 1417.5 (arc swing) to get 582.5 - This divided into 2000 gives us 3.433 but I failed to notice the error Bennett made in this diagram ..
The semi major axis to Jupiter is 1433,449,370 so by Bennett's illustration Mars would be 1433449370 / sq rt of 2 + 2 or 3.414214 or 1433449370 / 3.1414214 or 417,847,600
HOWEVER this is clearly incorrect. The proper relationship between semi major axis of Mars and semi major axis of Jupiter is
2Pi x Mars semi major axis. So the diagram I posted and the diagram Bennett posted shows
the diameter of the orbit of Mars and not the semi major axis. Thus Bennett's drawing should be amended to show Mars at the 1/2 point and not at 1.
