Petrie argued that we should look at what was set out at floor level for the King's Chamber, from which he computed a cubit of 20.632 inches as his final conclusion in his 1885 publication.

But for the Queen's Chamber Petrie strove to get away from Piazzi Smyth's 25 Pyramid inches, which equates to 25.025 inches as the displacement of the Niche.

In reality, we now know that the cubit of 28 digits was probably very close indeed to 20.61 inches so a displacement of 34 digits or 8 1/2 palms equates to 25.026.. inches.

I think we can suppose that the displacement of the Niche is a round number of digits. If it was 33 digits (intended) then the displacement should be 24.29 inches. If it was 35 digits (intended) then it should be 25.76 inches. Therefore we have to conclude that 34 digits was intended if indeed the displacement was intended to be a round number of digits.

Let's follow the Petrie rule and look at the displacement, as measured at floor level where the chamber was set out. The displacement was determined as 25.10 inches which equates to 34.1 digits.

I am quite satisfied that 34 digits was intended displacement because the depth into the niche is 365 digits, and 34 x 365 digits is the east side-length of the foundations.

Also, if we square the King's Chamber Circle, with its diameter of 20 royal cubits, and multiply by 25 as the length of the cubic diagonal, then the side-length of the virtual square is also 365 x 34 digits.

The corner sockets on the east side of the pyramid, which was built first according to M & R, extend beyond the true base square by 45 digits at either end, and 440 royal cubits plus 2 x 45 digits also equals 365 x 34 digits for the pi approximation 22/7.

The King's Chamber Circle has an equal area square with a side-length of 1/25 x 365 x 34 digits, which is equal to 365 x 34/25 digits.

This means that 365 x 34 digits is equal to 9,125 x 34/25 digits. There are 9,125 days in 25 calendar years, and 309 lunar months in 25 calendar years.

A secret code in the Great Pyramid, for selected dimensions, is one digit equals one lunar month.

The length of the Queen's Chamber is 309 digits, symbolic of the 25 year cycle. The length into the niche includes the depth of the niche at 56 digits (2 royal cubits), so the overall length of the Queen's Chamber to the back of the niche is 365 digits.

Again, the floor of the Queen's Chamber was laid out most precisely. The mean length is 227.5 inches which equates to 309.07 digits using 20.61 inches per royal cubit. It is 227.41 at the middle for the depth into the niche and this equates to 308.95 digits.

Can anyone doubt that the intended length was 309 digits given that we know that AE observed 309 lunar months in 25 calendar years, which, from memory is in a papyrus kept at the Ryelands Library, Manchester.

Do you really think that the Queen's Chamber had a length of 11 royal cubits (308 digits), as many are inclined to suppose.

Petrie measured the incline of the east wall of the Queen's Chamber, and it leans in 34/25 digits, accurate to much better than 1/25 digit.

The original height at the east wall peak was 246.1 inches. The length of the chamber at the floor was 227.47 inches and 225.51 inches at a level of 240 inches. Therefore the lean in at both ends equates to 1.96, or 0.98 inches at the east end above the niche because both walls lean in at 14 arc minutes. 246.1/240 x 0.98 inches = 1.0049.. inches which equates to 34.13/25 digits, so very close to 34/25 digits.

It s an uncomfortable fact that Petrie was well aware that the walls of the Queen's Chamber sloped in 1 inch, and that the niche was displaced 25 inches, which we should not see as 1 pyramid inch and a sacred cubit of 25 pyramid inches, but as 34/25 digits and 34 digits.
