You are failing to understand Byrd ... anything divided by 7 or 28 or any multiple of 7 yields a very simple fraction. For that matter so does 7, 9 and 11.
The metric system is based on 10
The English system is based on 12 (inches in a foot)
And The Egyptian System was and The Jewish system is based on 7 (7 palms in a cubit) and fractions.
And you can try to spin out of the fact we have all known for ages and that is that man is indeed in the ratio of what I once thought was Pi but which I now know is really in the ratio of 22/7 or 3 and 1/7th and as you yourself said ... it was a very simple tool for the average person but amazingly it was accurate as it could be.
Your quote:
"> Hi Byrd and you forget that a Royal Cubit was
> divided into 7 and then 4.
Nope. Didn't forget that. It's because of human proportions. Easy for illiterate workmen and craftsmen to deal with.
> And The Great Pyramid
> is 7 x 40 cubits tall
They didn't invent a base 7 system just for the GP alone and then totally forget it after. If they'd had it, they would have been working it all along."
"Okay if they didn't invent but had been using it all along ... ?" Byrd I am curious and with all due respect do you not understand what we are doing here ? The Romans the major users of 12 used it because there were 12 digits in a foot and there were 12 Gods as well I believe. The metric system probably because we have 10 fingers and and add 10 toes I know that equals 20 and I believe The Maya took that one. And the Egyptians took 7 ... well why do you suppose they did that Byrd ?
Let's look at the world in 7
Man and 22/7 ths
Music and 7 notes in a scale
And The Solar System ... to be posted eventually.
Cheers
