Hi all from Perring's data which was so kindly posted by Martin Stower on another thread I have begun to analyze their sizes and how they might relate to Giza as a whole.

We shall start with G3b the central pyramid of the three.

Perring has this to say:

Square of base = 102 feet 6 inches or 102.5 feet or 1230.0 inches

Height of first step = 17 feet 3 inches or 17.25 feet or 207.0 inches

Height of second step = 19 feet 6 inches or 19.5 feet or 234.0 inches

Height of third step = 19 feet 6 inches or 19.5 feet or 234.0 inches

Height of fourth step = 13 feet 3 inches or 13.25 or 159.0 inches

========================================================================

His total is 69 feet 6 inches and he says at the top it is 23 feet 4 inches or 23.33 or and as much as I love this particular number I do not believe it is accurate - he gets 280 inches.

Beginning an analysis of this pyramid one can immediately see that 207 inches in the first step is most probably 10 cubits (about 206.2 inches and only 4/5ths of an inch from what has been recorded)

The second and third steps are most probably 11 and 1/3rd cubit or about 233 and 2/3rds inches

The fourth step is the stumbling block. The distance 159 inches yields 7.7117 cubits and although it is a nice number I do not think it is keeping with what has been built before it. So I suspect that the fourth step too should be 19.5 feet or 11 and 1/3rd cubit.

This would give us as a height 44 cubits PRECISELY and fit it with the fact that it would be 1/10th the size of the great pyramid. Most interesting.

The base gives us 1230.0 inches but this translates into about 59 and 2/3rds cubits and this could be correct but I sense that maybe it should be 60 cubits even which would give us about 1237.08 inches and would disagree by about 7 inches with what Perring has measured.

So if we use 44 and 59 and 2/3rds cubits we get an angle of 55.86 degrees if we use 60 we get 1/2 of 60 divided by 44 = 55.71 degrees . This gives us tan 0.681 and times 1000 gives us 681.82 and in cubits is about the distance from the south side of G2 to the center line of The Sphinx.
