In our continuing search for Phi we must begin to analyze what happened in The Fifth Dynasty as to what caused a) the shrinking of the pyramids themselves, b) the shift away from cut stone and toward bricks, however one thing that apparently was not changed between the 3rd and 4th Dynasties in relation to The 5th Dynasty is their use of ...Phi. As I have pointed out the ability to get Phi with only compass (length of string) and straightedge (pulling the string taut) out of the simple 1 , 2 rectangle (rise to run). The major place we have seen this demonstrated is in The Pyramid of Khafre so it would appear that even though they could not match the magnificence of the previous structures they knew that the design of the pyramid was important in their road to immortality once they had entered their tomb. Surely logic dictates that the size and shape of their tomb had to have some relationship to their belief in the after life ...
Here is an image of the complex of Userkaf and the obviousness of Phi being incorporated in easy to spot, very similar to the design at Khafre and his mortuary temple.
and how Phi easily fits in ...
Now I haven't actually gone out and measured this, or know for a fact what the precise measurements are to a fraction of an inch but it is obvious that that 1/2 the base of the pyramid when equaling one then the outside of the complex is 1.618034 or Phi.
It appears that most later Pharaohs copied the design of The Pyramid of Khafre and my guess was because it was showing Phi and everlasting Life.
and for the record I don't think that he built his pyramid to 139.97 cubits. I think it is much more likely it was 140 cubits and .height was 93.33 not 2885.827 inches or 73.3 meters but 2886.8 inches and 73.32472 meters and 140 cubits. Now honestly doesn't that make a heck of a lot more sense ? so why do they insist on posting such inane measurements ?
