Hello Graham,

>>2. The ratio of Meidum-Dashur to Meidum-Step was 6 to 7<<
Google Earth gives me 6 to 7.044. Close but not perfect. If they wanted it to be exactly 6 to 7 they would have accomplished it. Also let’s not forget that the step pyramid was not build during the same pharaoh’s(Sneferu) reign.

>>1. The ratio of pyramid bases was 6 to 7<<
From Petrie:

Bent base = 189.43 meters

7 x 189.43 meters / 6 = 221 meters

But the red pyramid is significantly smaller than 221, in Romer’s book we even read about a length of 219,108 m or 418.5 rc.

>>4. The distance from the Bent to Red apexes was 3900 cubits (=13 x 300)<<
If we look at the angle formed at the Bent bent(Clive has brought this up a long time ago) we see that Mars orbital period is encoded. Then looking at Mars data we will be able to see why this 3900 cubits was used. Alternatively this could encode the distance between the Earth and the Moon. It was not their intention to use a round number of royal cubits. Sorry.

>>3. The split in the Bent-Red axis was 6 to 7
5. The angle of the Bent-Red axis was the average of 1 on 6 and 1 on 7
6. The enclosures were in the ratio 7 to 6
7. The pyramid and enclosures sizes were reversible from 6:7 to 7:6
8. The enclosure widths added together were 6 plus 7 times 10.<<

All these points are interesting but they start to make sense if this ratio is not exactly 6 to 7 or if it not only about a 6 to 7 ratio. Let’s take things from the beginning. Please start out by taking a look at the Djedefre astronomy – mountain alignments/encodings here:

Now you can try drawing the closest curve on the globe uniting the Red pyramid and the tallest mountain in Africa. See where it crosses. Now back to your 6 to 7 ratio. We have:

6/7 = 0.85714
cos(31.003 deg) = 6/7

This leads us to 31 degrees. Why 31 degrees? OK what’s the upper Bent pyramid angle? It’s about 43 deg 22’. What mountain has this latitude? It must be an important one. The latitude of Elbrus – tallest peak of the Caucasus mountain range(tallest mountain of greater Europe) is 43 deg 21’ North. A perfect match. Let’s now compute the azimuth between first Dahsur(via Red and Bent) and then Giza:

North – Red pyramid – Caucasus angle = 30.586 degrees
North – Bent pyramid – Caucasus angle = 30.548 degrees

But:

North – Kafre pyramid – Caucasus angle = 31.0369 degrees

Close to the nominal 6/7 31.003 degrees angle.

Now let’s return to astronomy. In one Earth year the Earth completes 360 degrees of virtual revolution circle. In this same time Jupiter completes 30.35 degrees. Then go back to the base dimensions of the Bent and Red pyramids, things are then easy…

Best regards…

Ogygos
