What I observe is that you're not working off an original photo (or series of original photos) of drawings and sculpture by ancient Egyptians. You're working off a modern piece drawn sometime in the last 50 years (and perhaps the last 20.) The artist is interesting and imaginative, but what you're interpreting is THEIR line drawing and not what the ancient Egyptians drew or sculpted.

So, yeah, modern artists can correct proportions to make them come out to be something we like to look at. They can fill in missing details that they believe are there, and so forth. Images can be compressed vertically (as this one appears to be) to make a more aesthetic design.

In short, you've discovered that an artist working within the last century (with computers around and good computing power) has managed to encode exciting mathematical relationships into their design. It would be interesting to track down the artist (I believe they're still living) and ask them about this.
