Actually if you go down to your local city hall and check in the building and drafting department they use scale measurements all the time.

1 inch can equal anything you want to start off a scale drawing. Gosh you didn't even know this ? And I am arguing with you ?

PS To Pete: Since we are dealing with measurements of hundreds of millions of kilometers (eg: 108,208,000) it would seem that any answer should be at least 9 decimal places. The reason I go to such lengths as don't forget that 108,208,000 is in kilometers and that can be broken down into millimeters. Have a great day !
