Okay let's explain Earth. Most would simply see that I had decided to go with 3.2 times Mercury distance and let it rest at that but there is a bit more madness afoot. The actual distance is 3.19 and for Venus we actually have 2.336 (of Mercury distance units) so I decided to be a little more clever as usual and decided to once again use The Sun but this time in miles. The Sun is 865000 miles in diameter and divided by our new favourite number 1 million we get 0.865.

Now I hope you see the humour in my design but 3.20 (Earth) - 2.335 ( Venus) = *giggling* 0.865

Perihelion of Earth = 147,098,074 km
Perihelion of Mercury = 46,001,200 km
147.1/46.0 = 3.1978

Perihelion of Venus = 107,476,259 km
Perihelion of Mercury = 46,001,200 km
107.5/46.0 = 2.336

I really do have a sense of humour.
