Problems 56 to 60 of the Rhind Papyrus deal with Pyramids; the relation of the lengths of two sides of a triangle.
Problem 60:
"[In] a pillar (iwn) [or perhaps a cone?] with a base-side (sntt) [or perhaps a diameter?] of 15 cubits and a height of 30 [cubits], what is its seqed?
Take 1/2 of 15; it is 7 1/2. Operate on 30 so as to get 7 1/7. The result is 1/4, which is the seqed" (Clagett 1999)

Whether or not the AEs were able to calculate the surface area of a sphere is very much a grey area.
Broadly, it depends mainly on how one interprets Problem 10 of the Moscow Mathematical Papyrus - a Problem which may or may not involve a hemispheric-shaped basket.
