There are only three visible planets to the naked eye that can be observed throughout the hours of darkness, the superior planets: Saturn, Jupiter and Mars.
This being true then it would have been difficult for the ancients to realize that Venus was an inferior planet passing between Earth and the Sun, yet it was recorded by Pythagoras that they did indeed know of this motion.
This does not confirm that the AE understood true planet motion, but closer examination indicates the Giza site holding a little more information than first assumed through the implementation of the odd designed walls surrounding G3.
The illustration below is the “only” mathematical location of the Sun that links the distance for the “four” planets: Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn as measured today.
Notice:
1) The largest (eastern) satellite pyramid of G3 represents the exact distance to Earth from the Sun.
2) Two dashed orbital circles for Mars represent its max and min distance from the Sun.
3) Traveling CW…Jupiter and Saturn align while Mars travels 140 degrees and Earth 263 degrees…total elapsed time…267 days.
Best.
