Hello Dave,
Of course.
Not everybody has a head for even the most basic of maths – I hadn’t allowed for that.

Hmm, not entirely happy with this; symbolism is a tricky little beast.
You may have no need to doubt your findings – there would be no point in pursuing the subject if you did – but I do feel that others are not going to see it the same way and that you should brace yourself for a fair amount of criticism, particularly from the anti-pi brigade.

Ah, now I begin to see the position you find yourself in.
In total contrast, my own interest in and work on the subject has always been and still is very much a hobby for me.
The only costs involved have been time (something I have had in great abundance for the last 20 years – being unemployable because of chronic illness does, paradoxically, have its good points
), goodness knows how many packs of 500 sheets of A4 copier paper of varying quality (the bulk of which has gone to the local landfill site via the local recycling centre), and a few (thank heavens for HP’s ‘FastDraft’ mode, say I) ink cartridges.
I do sincerely wish you the best of luck with your book, and look forward to reading it – a signed copy, of course.
Regards,
MJ
