One of the most notable and scholarly Egyptologists of our time, Jan Assmann was 85 at the time of his death (7 July 1938 – 19 February 2024)

He was a proponent of the idea that the ancient Egyptian religion contributed more than is usually credited to Judaism. While I didn't agree with this, his book MOSES THE EGYPTIAN made fascinating reading. [en.wikipedia.org]
