I'll only respond to the first part of your post at this moment - I'll get round to responding to the rest later.

As I understand it, the 121c length of the QCS shaft includes the length of the horizontal section at the bottom. Yes, I agree that the hieratic glyphs read '121'. It was Luca Miatello who first gave this explanation.
