Well ... As I think I said earlier somewhere, one explanation might be the various problems in Egypt in recent times.
But I'm not sure how valid that explanation really is. I would have expected at least one ancient site proposed by Sarah Parcak to have been subsequently investigated, and photos of artefacts (or some evidence of some sort, at any rate) accompanied by a smiling Parcak, etc.
But - unless someone does know of some evidence that I've missed - I don't know of any such site or example.
