"Recently, R Krauss has offered a critical note in regard to Stadelmann's calculations concerning the length of both Snofu's reign and the construction of the Red Pyramid. As a result, he rejected the latter's estimation of Snofru's length of reign and the period of time taken to build the pyramid. Following his estimation of all dates relating to Snofru, Krauss concluded that "... 24 dates known for Snofru, whether years of the count or intervening years, represent eight occasions of the count followed by an intervening year and sixteen counts that occurred in successive years, yeilding a reign of about 32 rather than 48 regnal years for the king." (Archaelogical Remarks on the 4th and 5th Dynasty Chronology - Verner - Quarterly Journal of Asian and African Studies 2001)

The Krauss article cited by Verner is JEA 82, 1996. I could probably copy this some time in the future if you still need it but I'm not in a position to at the moment.
