Interesting, I had no idea that the lunar phases had an effect on flora and fauna. Night time was probably the most feared time in Neolithic times...if you have never heard a night time lion kill in person at 100-200 yards distant, sitting in the dark of night, you have not experience real fear. Insects and animals probably still use moon light to hunt, if so the lunar cycles would certainly have a role, the African scarab navigates using moon light.
