"Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple at Deir El Bahari, called by the Ancient Egyptians Djeser-djeseru, ‘sacred of sacreds’, is recognised as one of the architectural wonders of the world."

Agreed but for reasons not usually spoken. It's one of a number of monuments in AE which "looks just right"
It's immediately endorsed with just one glance for it exudes the golden section.

"Hatshepsut’s temple is ideally placed to view astronomical events towards the eastern horizon"

It's snug up against the cliff face which adds to the dramatic effect it has on the eye so it appears to be a dual choice by Senenmut, the architect who revived the old ways.
