Any comments on this (other than on the wrong dates for Vega as pole star)?
James Francis and Katherinus Hewitt at [
books.google.com]
state that, "...the astronomical observation of the temple sites show that at Abydos and Luxor, which all Egyptologists regard as at least as old as Annu, there was a still older cult, as the star worshipped at these places was α Lyræ or Vega, which was the pole star from about 8000 to 10,000 B.C."
