I agree to a very large extent.

In my opinion, many others are a potential victim of the same thing.
Petrie saw these structures from the perspective of a 19th century
English scientist. He not only measured those things he found import-
ant but mentioned only those things he believed important. He had his
own theories on how and why they were built before he even started.

Say what you will but today's view of this is largely a continuation
of Petrie's excellent studies and work. More than a 100 years of tech-
nology and new science has hardly made a dent in the understanding of
what was believed long ago.

One has to hope he was essentially correct because if there's one thing
an observer can learn from watching the many theories and conjectures
it is that everyone can find evidence for his own ideas.
