Not really. It only requires one drawing, that which also explains slope, height and base.
When "the face being equal to that of the height squared" is mentioned by such surveyors as Petrie it's well to remember that it is the only theory that supports his use of the theodolite on the casing stones "in situ"
ie 51º 49' 38.3"
or as he read them
Casing stones, in situ, N. side, by theodolite - 51º 46' 45" ± 2' 7"
IOW about 51º 45 - 51º 49 (Chapter 6 Section 24)
I think that's what is being said
