Not to go South American on the Egypt board, but, the Nasca lines are viewable from the surrounding mountains. In fact they were discovered in 1927 by Toribio Mejia Xesspe, a Peruvian archaeologist, while he was hiking through the foothills. They were NOT discovered by airplane pilots as is often reported. The lines themselves were intended to be viewed by the gods who lived atop the mountains.
