I'm always on the look out for Khufu's name so I was intrigued by this piece in the Louvre.
There's no date information or context so I'm not completely clear what I'm looking at. It's in the section of the Egyptian Galleries where the items are sorted thematically not chronologically so the other items displayed here don't really help.
The French label reads "Scellés en argile. De la pyramide de Kheops E22350"
The Louvre website database doesn't add any extra information either. It just repeats the label. It's presumably a clay imprint of a cylindrical seal that didn't survive. It would be interesting to know a date and where it was found though.
