It appears SC is citing a comment by Aldred. I don't have that book by Aldred. I would like to see an exact citation of what he said and also to see if Aldred gives a specific citation to the text from Edfu. A person who is writing about AE (or any subject) must go beyond just quoting authorities to back their own ideas, they must find out if the authority is correct.
I would want to see the hieroglyphic text itself and consult how others have translated the text and what they had to say about it.
>The Mythical Origin of the Egyptian Temple< by E.A.E. Reymond is a must read for the texts concerning the foundation texts of the Edfu temple. I don't recall a text about a "codex" falling to the earth. I do remember that the texts speak of a reed that grows upon the primeval mound and that a falcon alights upon that reed and that spot is commemorated as the Naos in the temple. If there was a claim of a codex the information in it would be this story that is now still visible as the foundation text of the Edfu temple. Imhotep always looked to the most ancient and correct ways to interpret AE cosmology. The Late Period temples are indeed treasure houses of archaic knowledge and tradition, but not along the lines and circles of SC et al.
