Bauval and Hancock shifted Heaven and Earth back in time 8,000 years, just so that Regulus could be in a position rising due East with the Spring Equinox, at 10,500 Bc, considering this in terms of a first time ideal.


However, if Ma'at during the Old Kingdom occupied this position, in terms of the Scales of Heavenly balance (Libra), then it would be highly unlikely they would be thinking in terms of this being somehow second rate, or transitory, but rather in terms of perfect ordering, balance and harmony, thus the suggestion that Regulus in this position would be more desirable would most likely simply have horrified them...
