I think it would, actually. The inundation (akhet) started July. The waters rose July-August, and retreated September- October. 2nd month of prt would then be.... December.

Yes, I think odour was important to the AEs. (heheh, think about all perfume cones dripping on their faces and messing up the wig!) Not as we see it, maybe, but in the form of breathing something in. As you say, the Ankh was constantly stuffed to the noses, as were the lotuses and other flowers. I am quite certain, that there are aspects of this, that we haven't fully understood. Thnk about the "Book of Breathings" for example. Or why not the word "nfr" (beautiful, good) being written with the heart and the windpipe. The word "sma" (unite) is written with the lungs and the windpipe.
