Jammer; The AE creation myth had dry land being created by their Gods
In the beginning there was only water, a chaos of churning, bubbling water, this the Egyptians called Nu

… Eventually the floods would recede and out of the chaos of water would emerge a hill of dry land, one at first, then more. On this first dry hilltop, on the first day came the first sunrise. So that is how the Egyptians explain the beginning of all things.”

I believe they carved this “first mountain” in the shape of a pyramid.
I meant there need be no more complicated a meaning behind their belief in the sacredness of the pyramid shape than the root of Order over Chaos that spelled out their entire mythology.

I will agree we are both experienced mariners, and it's precisely because of that we must beware taking our knowledge of the art of maritime navigation and overlaying it inappropriately on the AE. It is MOST likely they navigated along the coast from known landmark to known landmark, with no knowledge of latitude, longitude, or degrees off the equator.

Remember we have recovered multiple ships from the AE with absolutely no evidence of any primitive navigation aids. Most of these were designed to help the Pharaoh sail the afterlife. If they had even a primitive Sextant would they not likely have left one in the Pharaoh’s boats to safely plot his course?

I always try and keep an open mind and will gladly yield the point if you've any hard evidence of these precursors of celestial navigation David.
