I have been reluctant to post on this subject for the last three years because it is the belief of many on this website that the AEs did not use degrees, minutes and seconds. I'm providing the evidence.

Read what I have posted and you will see that the "centre" in terms of latitude was around the First Cataract which is at 24 degrees north.

I posted in response to Mihos's original post and felt that as he was polite, he required a fuller response to my original text. I have explained how to read the GP.

Jammer - I believe from your previous post that you are the most experienced mariner/navigator on this site. As an ex mariner and navigator myself, perhaps you might consider my posts in light of your experience rather than what you have read about Ancient Egypt.

You might also look at my posts on "Calendar Measures" which will give you further insight into the ancient world of maps.
