In this you are quite correct, but I believe it is also true that both pyramids are decipherable using the same modality. Yes, you guessed it - the two-fold squaring of the circle.
The derivation I propose not only explains why there are two entrances to this pyramid, and why they are located where they are, but it also explains why the central chamber is located where it is, and why the upper and lower passages are located where they are. The pyramid was essentially built as designed. The only part I am having any real difficulty with is the lateral location of the entrances. Petrie says the central axis of the upper entrance is 490 inches east of the center of the north side. I suspect a transcription error, and that it is nearer to 496 inches.
The procedure I have proposed is a diagrammatic one. The diagram is relatively easy to derive and to draw, although it is a somewhat more involved process to then determine the various lengths of the scaled diagram computationally. I believe that all of what I propose, however, to have been within their means.
