I anticipated that you or someone else with a modern day astronomical perspective of ancient history would make an objection to the use of 'zenith'. In another post not so long ago you made the exact same objection and I explained to you that I was just quoting Faulkner, who was most certainly not thinking in terms of astronomical definitions but standard English language definitions. In this case 'zenith' means "the highest point; culmination; peak; summit".
This should have been obvious since the Sun would never be at the zenith in astronomical terms (directly overhead) at the latitude of Giza, Egypt.
