To infer that the degree measure in question was intentional so as to create an exact alignment, one must first show that the culture in question could and did use that particular degree measure.
Many of the shaft alignment speculations require the conversion of the degree measures to seqeds, and then the measure of the star elevation to the nearest seqed as well. This is the only appropriate way to do this task, since using degrees was not an option for the pyramid builders.
Naturally, there's no evidence to suggest the shafts pointed at stars anyway, but as a matter of academic exercise, we need to keep the conventions standardized with what we know the Egyptians used.
