Dave:

Yours: "...Petrie did not err as we all know, except on a couple of minor copying details in P&ToG where there are thousands of figures..."

Actually he did...and by a huge amount.
You are too focused on G1 as was he.
Think about it.
1) He claims no angular casing for G3 above the 16th layer...because others before him also stated that very fact.

2) There is and never was any evidence to support casing for the lower half of G2 because that is also verified by others before him.

3) He never bothered to climb to the top and record the height of G2, yet declares the angle of the structure is set by the base casing.

4) Review his index and it compares angles of other pyramids he has measured...you will see the 5:4 ratio at other sites...it's a common ratio.

5) Most remarkable...he neglects to mention that Perring/Vyse measured 52+ degrees for G2, because he is bent and determined at sticking with the base casing stones.

What amazes me the most is the detailed work and records for the actual dimensions of G1. The recorded size of the coffer was a huge undertaking a masterpiece of work. And then to continue with "estimated" values for the upper heights of G2 and G3.
Guess he thought them not important...unfortunately he was wrong. The height of the three pyramids are vital to understanding the complete site.

You viewed my course data and I explained the importance of the thicker courses...they confirm the 275 Rc height of G1.

Must run...busy for at least a day or two.
Again...read Petrie's measures at the point of the air passages, entrance and the upper section. You will see how he carried the base stone measure all the way to the top, but screws up at the 262 Rc level.

BTW…the builders certainly did “not” finish of the apex as Jon illustrates.
Ask yourself why the builders would complete the structure with 18+ courses of imported limestone…no local stone used.
Sorry Dave…it never happened and there is no evidence to support the concept of G1 completely encased with imported angular stones...it’s a simple fact…!

Best.
Clive
