"Yes, the top would be illuminated." that is in effect all I have been saying
".but it would not be a shockingly bright reflection." and nowhere did I say "shockingly bright reflection".
Both the Obelisk to the east and the Pyramids to the west would have been visually illuminated by dawns' first light. That is a dramatic symbolic effect IMHO.
