You may need a comedic/sympathetic sidekick like a time traveling chicken who acts as the link between the students of today and the past. Maybe at the beginning an Einstein like character accidentally knocks his newly invented time-machine out of his labs window into the neighboring veterinary schools chicken coop and send a chicken back in time rather than himself. The chicken can be the witness of the events being taught. The chicken does not really say anything just makes funny sound effects in a way of asking a question or concern. At one point he might think he is going to be eaten or plucked but is not for some ancient Egyptian reason. Or he can tell some funny jokes like the one at this website's Maat Birthday party. Eventually he gets back to the present and wins a Nobel Prize rather than the professor (butterfly effect/time travel paradox). Just a way of breaking the monotony of a lecture with some humor to get the students attention.
