I don't think it's a crack-pot idea to connect deities with old-kingdom kings... I don't like this particular connection, though.

Den has a symbol of a hand over the nile. I think he may have a connection to crocodiles/sobek. Den is the son of Merneith and Djet, where as Sobek was the son of Neith and Set. This connection is above my paygrade though; it is a guess.

Min is a fertility god...he seems to be connected to Nut. Geb was the husband of Nut... it appears there was a min cult in the city of gebtu... so I would guess that Min is very similar, if not equivalent to Geb. Min is pre-dynastic, whereas Geb is from the 3rd dynasty... my sources tell me.

Den doesn't seem to be represented in a Phallic manner, though.
