I think we have to remember that the AE 'Gods' were at their source local ie Nomal deities.

Just as the different nomes were incorporated into Upper or Lower Egypt and eventually all incorporated into one country, the numerous local deities and their rituals etc were amalgamated into one . No wonder the attributes of different Gods so closely overlap. which is why I think it far more efficient to deal with the attributes themselves rather than the arbitrary 'personalities' of the Gods to which they are assigned.
