Glad to see [gatesopenresearch.org] mentioned...

The very fabric of what the internet "is" was founded on scholarly sharing.
The Archie (McGill University), Jughead (University of Utah), Veronica (University of Nevada, Reno) web engines were the original search engines.
What was there purpose? Scholastic paper sharing...FREE.

I really just cant get my head around the idea of paywalls for news and research.
If you spend just a little time (10 minutes) reading this [support.google.com]
you'll be wading through the b.s., circumventing paywalls and on to productivity...

Sorry for the little rant...I put paywalls in the same category as Chick-fil-a, Nike and the Catholic Church.
(The category of not getting one red cent.)
