However, religious belief is not science and science is not religious belief. That's the problem. People believe many things for many reasons. When it comes to evolution, those who understand the science accept the theory. Accepting a scientific theory is not a belief, religious or otherwise. It's not something that "feels" right or is appealing because it meshes well with other beliefs. Evolution is demonstrable. One may believe that a god is behind everything, but that is not demonstrable scientifically, so neither the existence of God (or gods) nor the action of that God (or gods) figures into any scientific theory. Essentially, I think the ID thing is a false dichotomy.
