Simon, note that the core or essence of things is usually positive or neutral but hardly negative...

As such, negative energy must circulate around a positive core, so you don't really have a choice...

My ideas are good because they have such a core reference. In other words, I am tapping directly into the true database of knowledge...

If you are a sad person, that saddly reflects on your state of mind and probably a lack of a positive reference...
