Well, for me it's been related to how bad the pain has been. If I've been good the doc used to give me what he called "tune ups" (LOL). THat would most likely be laser and pretty brief. Not even a minute on each spot. When I did get more severe pain, or when I'd been bad and not gone to him for several months, then he'd use the needles and let me lie. Usually about 15 mins. It felt like an eternity (Especially when you're in a small room with only two exceedingly boring medical posters on the nearby wall to keep you occupied) but I doubt it was ever longer than 20-25 minutes.

Thanks for the explanation/description. I hadn't really thought about how the laser worked until now.
