Yes, the Mac has always been ahead of the PC in terms of most multimedia applications, including video. Most professionals use Silicon Graphics (SGI) and/or other high end equipment for video/film processing. SGI runs UNIX...

The digital video explosion is just beginning right now. Until now, it has been primarily audio/pictures in addition to standard data and text...

Once cost effective, high resolution, digital display/projection systems become available, the race is on! Right now HDTV and plasma displays are still very expensive. IMHO, it is the Hollywood monopolists who have been holding the rest of us back in terms of the growth of video over the Internet...

Remember the Napster situation!
